Scale Fly-in event

The Scale Fly-in is a joint effort by the BMFA Scotland Area and the Scottish Aeromodellers Association.

It will take place on Sunday 26 July 2026 at the flying site near Kilmacolm used by the Clyde Valley Flyers club, from 10 am.  Free tea, coffee and soft drink cans will be provided, as well as a buffet Sunday Lunch, including hot soup, sandwiches, meat pies, and cakes. (Please note, no gluten free option is available).

There will be two trophies awarded, one for the best Scale Model, and another for the best Scale Flying, as judged by an array of model experts. That will take place on the Sunday only, but the site is available for flying on both Saturday and Sunday, 25th and 26th July, to all members of SAA or BMFA. Participants should bring proof of SAA or BMFA insurance.

Modellers are welcome to bring caravans or motorhomes on Saturday, fly on Saturday and stay overnight (free), but should book a space beforehand. There will be no water, power or waste disposal available on site.
The CVF flying site is located just off the B788 road between Kilmacolm and Greenock, just over the hill from Port Glasgow. You can find Clyde Valley Flyers on Google Maps, or Google Earth. The entrance from the B788 is at North 55.904, west (-) 4.705 and on  what3words try  campsites.twirls.gangway
