Just in case some BMFA member expected me to know about it, I thought I had better get more familiar with the Achievement Scheme. After a quick look, I didn’t know my SWEETS from my SMARTS, the flight test sheets changed again, and the Club Examiner process was changed too. So I dug out a number of lengthy, comprehensive and well written documents from www.BMFA.org and set about reading them all through.
Picking out the absolute essentials gave me several pages of hand written notes that I later condensed into two pages of basics that might be of interest. So here is my simplified guide, with a bit on getting the fixed wing A, a rundown of the common acronyms, a bit about advancing to the B, and finally the latest version of how a Club gets an examiner.
