THE Training and Testing event this coming weekend, 14th and 15th June, at the West Calder club has unfortunately been cancelled by the club due to unfavourable weather forecasts. There is no point in Examiners and candidates turning up and being faced with unsuitable weather conditions.
The club will be open at the weekend as normal for the benefit of hardy members and those with weather-proof models, and the West Calder club may be contacted through Mark Wilson 07810-156476. It is hoped that the West Calder T&T event may be rescheduled for a later date, so look out for announcements.
In the mean time, keep practising.
Any BMFA member who wishes to get an A or B test should ask their club examiner/instructors to explain the requirements, and the procedure of the tests, and then conduct their test. If your club has no resident examiner there are other events at which the BMFA and the SAA will endeavour to provide qualified examiners, either one or more Club Examiners from other clubs, or a chief examiner who is authorised to conduct both A and B tests on his own.
Scotland Area BMFA, in conjunction with the SAA, have organised four Training and Testing events in central Scotland. The first already took place at the Caplaw Group’s flying site near Paisley and Johnstone and was a success on the Sunday, despite adverse weather forecasts.
The other two events arranged so far are at:-
Kinross club on 23rd & 24th August and
Hamilton club on 4th and 5th October
More may be added (check Calendar Events List).
Any BMFA member wishing to take part in these events should contact the host club and/or the Area Achievements Coordinator (via Area Website contacts page).
