Coming Events

Please note the CANCELLATION of the event advertised by the Burns Country Flyers club on July 11th and 12th, as noted in the latest edition of the Calendar Events List.

Aso coming up soon, on 27th and 28th June,  there is a Training and Testing event at the Clyde Valley Flyers club near Kilmacolm, and BMFA examiners will be there. It is being run, as usual, in conjunction with the SAA.

Test candidates are welcome to come along and take part, or even just watch and learn, pick up procedural tips from the examiners. However we recommend that you contact the Area Achievement scheme Coordinator (Nick Reeves nickonthemove1@gmail.com or via ‘contact us’ page on Area website) or contact the Clyde Valley Flyers club (secretary Alison, alison.hicks1138@gmail.com or Alasdair, sonas6@hotmail.co.uk)   We can also give directions to the club (Clyde Valley Flyers is on Google Maps). You can of course just turn up for A and B tests, but then we can’t let you know of weather problems or any unforeseen curtailment. C tests or club examiner qualification tests must be pre-arranged.

Scotland Area BMFA, in conjunction with the SAA, have organised four Training and Testing events in central Scotland in 2026, as follows:-

The one at West Calder club on 9th and 10th May was a success, and there are three more

Clyde Valley Flyers (near Kilmacolm) on 27th and 28th June

Balbedie club near Loch Leven on 22nd and 23rd August

Hamilton club on 3rd and 4th October

If a BMFA affiliated club, outside the central belt, has candidates unwilling to travel long distances to undertake tests, then the Scotland Area is willing and able to arrange a testing session at the request of the club. Contact Area Achievements Coordinator Nick Reeves  nickonthemove1@gmail.com or via ‘contact us’ page on Area website. It would be good to arrange a visit for more than just one candidate. And if the club in question requests to have one of their members approved as a Club Examiner, if approved, that would allow A tests within that and nearby clubs in future.
