Dear BMFA member in Scotland,
Following on from your formal email invitation to attend the AGM of Scotland Area of BMFA, this email contains links to the registration form, AGM minutes and subsequent members’ meeting minutes.
The BMFA Scotland Area AGM is a gathering of affiliated Clubs. Each affiliated Club gets one vote at the meeting and is expected to appoint one of its members as its club representative.
The BMFA Scotland Area’s group of club reps is referred to as “the committee” and they propose and second all proposals and vote on whether to accept them. The officers of the Area merely chair the meetings, write the emails and letters, keep the books and make suggestions on your behalf, which club reps may wish to take up in order to shape the Area’s future to better suit its members.
All BMFA members in Scotland who are in a club that is not affiliated, or not in a club at all, are represented by the Country Members’ representative who carries a vote at meetings, on their behalf.
We suggest that all voting reps have to hand a voting card that you can hold up to vote. Show the white side for YES and black side for NO.
We also suggest that you read the minutes of the last meeting in advance to save time at the meeting.

There is no provision to accept discussion of items not on the agenda above. For that reason it has become customary to have a General Members’ Meeting straight after the AGM, and that can contain AOB. Clubs are invited to submit to the Area Secretary items they already wish to have included on the agenda.
