The event will start at 9.30am on both days with a safety briefing. Flying will commence at 10am and will end at 5pm. The details of how to get to the flying field are given below. The field has toilet facilities including one with dis-abled access and a cabin to provide shelter if the weather takes a turn for the worst. The club is unable to provide food or drinks at the event so visitors are recommended to bring their own food and drink for the day. Please check the Hamilton Model Flying Club’s website on the evening of Friday the 3rd of October to ensure that the event has not been cancelled due to weather.
Directions To The Hamilton Model Flying Club’s Airfield
From the M74, exit at Junction 8 (Southbound). Turn left off the slip road and continue to roundabout, Northbound the slip road will bring you directly onto the roundabout.
Turn left at roundabout towards Blackwood, You will pass two parking laybys – immediately after the second layby turn left;
You will cross a bridge over the motorway, immediately after the bridge turn right;
As you follow the road (Bloomfield Road) you will see a green hut on top of the hill on your right, this is the flying site.
